Edendale School's Charter
It is a requirement of the Education Act that the Board of Trustees for every school in New Zealand prepare, maintain, and submit a school charter to the Ministry of Education by 1st March each year. The Ministry will then acknowledge the Charter and indicate to the Board Chairperson and Principal whether or not it has been accepted (usually within 25 working days).
The charter is a key planning document that sets out the school's objectives and targets for the year. The purpose is to establish the mission, aims, objectives, directions and targets of the board that will give effect to the Government’s National Education Guidelines and the Board’s priorities.
In 2019 the Board is engaged in a full review of the Charter and events around this are advertsied in the School newsletter and on the google calendar. We encourgae your partivipation.
