Principal's Message

Edendale is a large culturally-diverse primary school located in central Auckland. Thank you for visiting our website and taking an interest in our school.

Our mission statement ‘The Edendale Experience: Thinking, Learning, Creating’ was initiated by students and reflects programmes and opportunities offered at our school including those beyond the core curriculum;  visual arts with our artist-in-residence, instrumental groups, choirs, sporting opportunities and Garden to Table. Our students are encouraged to develop as self-motivated, creative thinkers and learners and as well as being respectful and caring with a sense of belonging to our community. Learning at Edendale is developed through inquiry and use of SOLO Taxonomy rubrics across the curriculum. Teachers are also expected to inquire into their own teaching practice with a focus on improved learning outcomes for all students. We are an Enviro school and are in the process of becoming part of the international Eco Schools' Green Flag Programme. We have an emphasis on student voice and views; we regularly survey our students (and our community) as part of our self-review and continuous improvement programme.
